As part of our sustainability strategy, MECATHERM is committed to supporting the local communities surrounding its sites, particularly when it comes to the circular economy and human well-being. To promote digital inclusion while reducing electronic waste, MECATHERM has established a structured program to regularly donate IT equipment that is no longer needed by the company but is still functional. This initiative reflects our commitment to contribute to a more inclusive and environmentally friendly future while reducing electronic waste and promoting more equitable access to digital equipment in our region.

PROMOTING DIGITAL INCLUSION

Donations of computers to local schools

Since 2025, MECATHERM has been donating refurbished computers to schools in the communities surrounding its sites. This initiative not only extends the lifespan of our IT equipment but also provides students with better access to digital tools as part of their academic curriculum.

Partnership with the Desclicks Association

MECATHERM has partnered with Desclicks, a French nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting digital inclusion through the reuse of obsolete or out-of-service computer equipment. This partnership allows Desclicks to collect our IT equipment that is still functional but has become obsolete for professional use, giving it a second life. The equipment is then inspected, refurbished, and offered at affordable prices, primarily to individuals or organizations with limited access to IT resources, thereby helping to bridge the digital divide.

This initiative is fully in line with our commitment to meaningful action. It allows us to actively contribute to a sustainable approach in digital technology. By reusing our IT equipment, we are taking concrete steps to protect the environment while making digital technology more accessible to everyone. It’s a responsible and humane way to manage the end of life for our IT equipment.”
