Safety nets: Working safely when installing an M-TA tunnel oven
At MECATHERM, protecting our teams is a daily priority and an integral part of our sustainability approach, which constantly aims to improve working and safety conditions on both our sites and on our customers’ sites.
In this article, learn about a specific device set up for working at great heights during the installation of an M-TA tunnel oven, which involves working extensively on the upper part of the equipment. To continue to provide a safe environment and prevent accidents and falls during the assembly phase of this oven, MECATHERM installed safety nets all around the equipment.
Offering great adaptability, these nets can be adjusted to several dimensions according to the length of the M-TA tunnel oven ordered by the customer. Simple and effective, this protective measure enhances the comfort of our fitters, enabling them to work safely without the need to wear a harness, while retaining their usual personal protective equipment (PPE).
“Compliant with fall protection standards, safety nets are supplied with fastening bars. Easy to deploy, they offer a safer solution at a lower cost. This device enables MECATHERM to ensure optimum comfort and safety for its employees during the installation phase. Feedback from employees who came into contact with the solution during the test phase enabled us to continually improve and perfect it.” Laurène HOCHWELKER, HSE Coordinator at MECATHERM
