Safety Week: How MECATHERM raises employee awareness of safety culture?
As part of our sustainability approach, we recently organized the first edition of “Safety Week” at our Barembach (67) and Montilliers (49) sites in France. This event aimed to raise awareness among all our employees about the specific risks in our sector and was an opportunity to strengthen our safety culture while sharing best practices to follow daily.
A rich and varied program
To make this week as rewarding as possible, we organized several themed workshops:
The “Eagle Eye” challenge: faced with a simulated accident, participants had to determine the causes using the cause tree method (or the 5 Whys technique). This was a fun and practical way to understand incident mechanisms and think about how to prevent them.
Thematic safety quizzes: each day, our employees could test their knowledge by answering quizzes covering various topics such as working at heights, electrical risks, and mechanical hazards. Memo sheets with best practices for each risk were later sent to employees to help them develop the right reflexes daily.
The “Workstation Ergonomics” workshop: participants learned how to optimize the ergonomics of their desks to improve their well-being at work and avoid potential muscle pain.
Well-being workshops: three well-being workshops tailored to the company context and led by external professionals were offered: self-massage, stretching, and relaxation.
Safety is our top priority and a fundamental pillar of our sustainability approach. Safety Week demonstrates our commitment to creating a safe working environment where every employee feels protected and valued. Together, we make everyone’s safety responsibility.
