MECATHERM commits to digital future with the association Desclicks
As part of its sustainability approach and commitment to the circular economy, MECATHERM has initiated a partnership with Desclicks, an association based in Schiltigheim, France. They promote digital inclusion through the reuse of obsolete or unusable computer equipment.
This partnership allows Desclicks to collect our professionally obsolete but still functional IT equipment to give it a second life. These devices are inspected, refurbished, and offered at affordable prices, mainly to individuals or organizations with limited access to IT resources, thereby helping to reduce the digital divide.
Beyond reuse, Desclicks plays a key role in providing digital support. The association offers learning opportunities open to all, ranging from basic internet navigation to programming and IT maintenance.
We recently handed over 48 computers to the association, marking the concrete launch of this solidarity collaboration. This is a significant first step that perfectly illustrates our desire to act locally and responsibly, support the circular economy, reduce electronic waste, and promote equitable access to digital technology.
This partnership reflects our commitment to meaningful and sustainable actions in the digital realm. By reusing our IT equipment, we actively protect the environment with concrete actions, while making digital access more inclusive. It’s a responsible and humane way to handle the lifecycle of our devices. — Guillaume Duez, Director of Digital and Information Systems
This project is part of our broader sustainability approach, based on concrete and local actions to serve a more supportive and sustainable future.
