At MECATHERM, our engineers are integral to the success of multiple key functions. They bring their ideas to life in various fields such as R&D, quality, production, marketing, supply chain, continuous improvement, finance, and IT, among others.
Our female engineers contribute to the rich diversity of expertise at our company. We invite you to read the interview with one of them: Ginger Adnot, who is part of the Marketing team.
Can you tell us about your background?
I graduated from ENSAIA (National School of Agronomy and Food Industries in Nancy) as an engineer with a specialization in Food Formulation, and I also hold a master’s degree in Food, Nutrition, and Cosmetics.
What is your role today at MECATHERM?
My main mission today is to develop a new market for the company: the savory products market. With many production lines of this type around the world, my role is to raise awareness of this expertise within our teams and support the sales force in presenting our solutions to clients. My role also involves working closely with each department to identify areas for improvement and evolve our product range.
What inspired you to become an engineer?
It’s a profession that opens the door to a variety of roles with diverse responsibilities. There are opportunities to move between different positions within the same company (e.g., quality, production, R&D, marketing…) as well as across different sectors (food, pharmaceutical, mechanical, medical…).
In your opinion, what are the unique aspects of being an engineer in the industry?
Engineering is a versatile and enriching profession that allows you to continuously develop your skills. It encourages collaboration with multiple teams.
And more specifically at MECATHERM?
It’s a very stimulating work environment. The diversity of my skills allows me to have comprehensive expertise to rely on. It’s rewarding to combine my knowledge of food products, manufacturing processes, and quality in the food industry with the impact of processes and MECATHERM’s equipment technologies.
What skills do you think are essential for the engineers of tomorrow?
Critical thinking and perseverance will be crucial to go beyond what Artificial Intelligence can offer, as they will have AI tools at their disposal to assist with daily tasks. Curiosity will also be key to keep learning a little more every day!
What advice would you give to a young girl hesitating to pursue scientific studies?
Go for it and be ambitious, but above all, do what you love most!
At MECATHERM, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and fulfilling work environment for all our employes.
