Driving sustainability into our Demo Center
At MECATHERM, sustainability is a concrete commitment that we integrate into our daily operations.
For instance, in our demo Center, this means reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining high standards in technological performance and customer experience. Through targeted initiatives focused on energy saving and waste management, we demonstrate how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Recently we redesigned this 3,000 m² Demo Center. Equipped with a production line containing more than 25 pieces of equipment, it serves as a responsible, high‑performance industrial baking model for our customers. The facility allows us to simulate our customers' various processes.
1. Energy saving:
A 30%** reduction of energy consumption related to temperature management
In our Demo Center, we have implemented a strategy to decrease energy consumption linked to temperature regulation within the building. This approach has led to a 30% reduction in energy consumption thanks to two major actions:
a) A smart temperature control solution using energy recovery principles based on weather conditions
- Summer: exhausts heat from ovens and introduces fresh air from outside.
- Winter: recovers oven heat and redistributes it throughout the Demo Center.
This dynamic recovery system ensures optimal comfort while significantly reducing reliance on traditional heating and cooling equipment.
b) Automated energy consumption management
Our facilities switch automatically between production and non-operation modes (Day and Night mode).
This automation prevents unnecessary energy use during periods of low activity, ensuring that consumption matches actual operational needs.
A 65%* reduction in lighting consumption thanks to LED technology.
Switching to LED technology provide a 65% reduction in lighting consumption, significantly lowering our energy use. This upgrade delivers both environmental benefits and long‑term cost savings.
2. Waste management: 100%*** of waste is valorized and sorted
Our Demo Center ensures that 100% of waste is valorized and sorted, in accordance with best practices for a circular economy and resource recovery.
- CIW (common industrial waste) is incinerated and converted for energy recovery.
- Paper and cardboard follow a recycling process.
- The by-products from trials follow a methanization process for organic recovery and electricity production.
“At MECATHERM, we also apply our sustainability approach throughout our Demo Center. We combine technological innovation with respect for the environment. Every day, we take care to limit our energy consumption and optimize waste management. Our goal is to go even further by constantly improving our practices.” SaysSimon HEYBERGER, Demo Center Manager.
This mindset drives our continuous progress and reinforces our ambition to build a Demo Center that embodies both innovation and environmental responsibility.
By integrating energy management and responsible waste recovery practices, the MECATHERM Demo Center demonstrates how industrial innovation can actively contribute to a more sustainable future.
We remain committed to improving our methods and sharing these achievements with our customers.
